This term we have been looking at Animals. The children have been on an imaginary safari, using their senses to explore the wild. Look there goes a Lion!! They have developed this exploring into learning about new animals and writing about what they can do, using verbs and suffixes. We went on a school trip to the zoo and met some of these animals in real life. The Meerket loved us. To further consolidate our learning we started to learn about animals in the sea and went on a trip to the aquarium. The North Pole was awfully cold. Brrrrr!
In maths we have been having lots of fun, investigating and measuring. We can now measure the height of a giraffe. We now know the difference between meters and cm. We have worked on identifying shapes in the environment and have learned about new ones such as triangular prisms. To round up this lovely term we have started to work on multiples of 2’s, 5’s and 10’s. This has been challenging.
