Rowling learning about volcanoes

May 11, 2018 | Year 3

During the summer term, we have been extremely busy exploring Volcanoes through the book ‘Escape from Pompeii’. We have learnt how to write explanation texts informing our readers about mighty volcanoes. Are you blown away yet? We have also made a real volcano erupt in class with everyday materials. You can also try this at home!

In Maths, we have been working hard on our shapes and lines. How can you tell if two lines are parallel or perpendicular to each other? If you are in doubt, don’t hesitate to ask us! We can also WOW you with our knowledge about different angles and different shapes. Therefore, if you get confused with acute and obtuse angles, we can get it right for you!

We are always thirsty to learn more so we travelled all the way to Egypt in order to learn everything about this fantastic civilization. Did you know that thousands of years ago Egyptians had their own alphabet and even their own paper? We were really impressed by that so we kept digging into their past and were truly mesmerized by their gods and goddesses.

There is no doubt that we are attracted to exciting learning and definitely magnetic fields and materials! We have been trying out some magnets in our school and we are absolutely excited to see how they work and interact with different metals. Do you know what metals are attracted to magnets? We do for sure!
