We are now running Open Mornings for new parents where they can tour the school.
Tours start at 9.30 am and last ~1 hour.
Friends of Lucas Vale
We love nothing more than when parents volunteer their time to become part of Lucas Vale school life. Parent’s views and time are always valued and welcomed in our school, we are always open to new ideas.
A great way to introduce new ideas is our Weekly Coffee Morning – held every Wednesday 9.00am – 11.00am in the Dario Hall. This is also a brilliant way to meet new friends, keep up to date with current events but more importantly, to get involved in School Life.
We would love to hear from you if you feel you could bring something valuable to our school – whether this is helping on school trips, helping to organise an event, reading with our children or just being a general helping hand to pupils and our families.
Learning beyond the Classroom
As well as supporting school life within school hours, it is so important that our parents take an active role in their child’s education outside of school hours. This could simply be ensuring your child comes to school every day and on time and ensuring they are ready to learn. It could be sharing with us any issues that may be happening outside of school so that we can plan how best to support your child.
One of the ways that could really support your child’s learning is talking to them about their day and supporting them with home learning, especially their reading! Our more able readers are almost always the children that read at home on a daily basis with their parents.
Always remember, learning doesn’t only occur at school, learning beyond the classroom is also key in ensuring our children have a well-rounded, positive learning experience.
